Over the years, I’ve worn a lot of different design hats and worked on all kinds of projects including catalogues, from pagination right through to the finished printed book, to travel and tourism marketing, custom spreadsheets, automated quoting systems, presentations, social media content, branding and logo design, invitations, real estate signage and marketing materials, photography and so much more. Each project has brought something a little different to the table, and that variety is one of the things I’ve enjoyed most about being a designer.
This section is a sample of some of the freelance graphic design work I’ve done for small businesses and organizations over the years, from branding and logos to marketing materials and websites. No two projects are ever the same, and I’ve enjoyed helping businesses create the things they need, helping them get seen and making their day-to-day work a little easier including automated quote forms and spreadsheets to online ads, Facebook pages, social media campaigns and complete websites.
Freelance Graphic Design
Edgewood Cedars
This project was about building a complete brand from the ground up for a new cedar tree company. The client wanted a simple easy to recognized what the company is logo, overall look, feel and brand guidelines. Then apply that look through the many things their business uses every day. They wanted to the whole package from custom forms, spreadsheets and automated quote and invoices to the website, Facebook page, social media and branded apparel for their employees. The goal was to make everything feel connected while still being practical and easy for the team to use both in the office and on the road.
Wynnridge Services - Painting and Accent Walls
For this client, I created a custom logo and brand guidelines, then carried the new look across a range of marketing materials. From flyers and online ads to door knockers and rip tag flyers, each piece was designed to be clear, eye-catching and easy to read while keeping the branding consistent wherever it appeared.
For this client, I created the branding and logo for a targeted grazing landscaping business, along with business cards and other supporting materials. They also needed me to design a business plan book for grant applications and investor presentations, to them get funding for their business. Following the business plan formula their business idea came to light in a organized, clear, professional layout that was easy to follow and attract some funding opportunities.

For this project, I created the branding and logo for a science-based, in-school workshop company, then carried it across a range of materials. This included a full brand kit, website, flyers, brochures and branded shirts, all designed to feel consistent and approachable. The focus was on creating something that would engage students while still being clear, organized and useful for schools and educators.

This section is a collection of smaller, one-off projects I’ve created for different clients over the years. From flyers, brochures and door hangers to websites, real estate signs and custom worksheets, these projects are a good example of the variety that comes with freelance design work.
Corporate In-house Design & Communications
This work comes from my time with GANZ and the Farren Group, where I worked on everything from high-volume product catalogues to tourism guides and full-page magazine advertising. At GANZ, I handled pagination, layouts, large image databases, photo editing, accuracy checks and prepared print-ready files for catalogues produced on tight timelines. With the Farren Group, I worked on a team of designers to rebrand the
York Region Tourism. We built the tourism guide page by page and created ads for local businesses and marketing materials for digital and print. Along with recurring magazine advertising for the IHG brands including Marriott, Holiday Inn and Howard Johnson.
This is a few sample pages from the York Region tourism guide, showing the publication design, editorial layout and organization of listings, maps and other tourism content. I also designed many of the local business ads featured throughout the guide, creating a consistent look across the publication while balancing advertising, information and visual content.

As part of the York Region Tourism rebrand, I worked on all kinds of advertising to help promote the region and its local businesses. This included newspaper and magazine ads, CAA placements, web advertising and other print and digital pieces, each adapted to fit its format while keeping the new look of York Region Tourism consistent.

Travel & Hotel — CAA Magazines
Full-page ads created for CAA magazines featuring hotel brands including Holiday Inn, Marriott and Priority Plus. The layouts were designed to be clean, easy to read and visually engaging while working within the requirements of magazine and print advertising.
Sample catalog pages showing how large numbers of products were organized into clean, consistent layouts. Working with image-heavy pages meant paying close attention to spacing, alignment and readability, while keeping up with tight production timelines, preparing files for print and making updates as products changed.

Illustrations
This section showcases some of my illustration work, all hand-drawn in Procreate. Illustration is something I’ve enjoyed exploring alongside my graphic design work, especially creating characters, playful scenes and artwork with a children’s book feel. In 2018, I started creating clipart for my Etsy shop as a Canadian Clipart artist, and it has since grown into a large collection of original, hand-drawn artwork used by teachers, small businesses and other creatives. You can see my clipart collection in my Etsy shop.
